Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Plant Doctor mobile app, developed by LiteSapphire LLC. It explains, in plain terms, what data the app uses, where it goes, and what control you have over it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell anything, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Photos, camera, and photo library

Plant Doctor's whole job is looking at pictures of your plants. To do that, the app asks for permission to use your camera and, if you choose to pick an existing picture, your photo library. We only access the photos you take or select inside the app. We never scan your library in the background.

When you run a scan, your photo is uploaded to our servers so it can be analyzed. Photos you don't submit for a scan never leave your device.

How photos are analyzed

To diagnose your plant, we send your photo to OpenAI, a third-party AI service, which analyzes the image and returns the diagnosis and care recommendations you see in the app. OpenAI processes the image on our behalf under its API terms; per those terms, API data is not used to train OpenAI's models.

Accounts and data storage

If you create an account, your sign-in details and your scan history (photos, diagnoses, and recommendations) are stored with Supabase, the service we use for authentication and data storage. This is what lets your history sync and survive reinstalling the app.

Subscriptions and purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), so we never see or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to keep track of subscription status, which means RevenueCat receives a purchase identifier and subscription state, but not your payment information.

What we don't do

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data and scan history for as long as you have an account, so the app can show you your past scans. If you delete your account, or email us and ask, we delete your data. Send deletion requests to support@litesapphire.com and we'll take care of it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
